Summer fun is here! June has so many great North County and San Diego events! Of course, there’s the San Diego Fair, but there are also art walks, festivals, concerts, plays, bike rides, surfing contests, the Highland games, a parade and more. Keep reading for more great San Diego and North County events!

Taste of Julian

June 1
While apples will always be revered by the hamlet of Julian, we have more than apples to celebrate and Taste of Julian is designed to do just that. Celebrate the deliciously diverse culinary delights Julian has to offer. The event is a self guided tour of the participating restaurants and tasting rooms in the Julian area.

San Marcos Trails Day

June 1
A challenging, 7-mile hike with more than 1,000 feet of elevation gain will be offered to Double Peak Park via the Cima Loop Trail and La Plaza Drive. A 1-mile interpretive walk will feature the flora and fauna of the Discovery Creek Trails. And a 6-mile equestrian trot will also be offered starting from the Ridgeline Trailhead.

Sam Hinton Folk Festival

June 1
This wonderful outdoor event will feature musical performances, musical workshops, group jams and an open mic stage. A great variety of folk music will be offered including Bluegrass, Olde Time, Irish music, even kids’ music.

Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon & 1/2

Rock ‘n’ Roll running has been a San Diego event since 1998. Fallbrook Healthy Living Faire

Visit with a variety of health-minded businesses and organizations that will be showcasing products and services, as well as providing general health and wellness information. The San Diego County Live WOW (Wellness on Wheels) bus will be onsite with a variety of resources, including aging and independence, child and family wellbeing and military/veterans.

Paper Shredding, E-Waste Recycling and Mulch Event

June 8
The City of Vista and EDCO are sponsoring a FREE shredding, e-waste collection, and mulch event. Limited to two banker’s boxes (10inchx12inchx15inch) per household.

Unwanted electronics including computers, monitors, laptops, computer components, printers, scanners, fax machines, radios, and cell phones.

Free, self-service mulch is available for Vista residents. So, please bring your own cans/bags, gloves, and shovel. There is a limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle.

Goodwill will also be on-site to accept donated reusable items. Please go to edcodisposal.com, under News & Events, for a list of items that Goodwill will not accept.

Race Across America

June 11 & 15
Each year, cyclists convene in Oceanside ready to prove themselves in Race Across America (RAAM), one of the most respected and longest running endurance sporting events in the world. RAAM racers bike 3000 miles across 12 states, climbing 170,000 vertical feet in no more than 12 (for solo riders) to nine days (for teams). In Oceanside, you can cheer on the competitors as they launch their epic sprint.

2023 USA Surfing Championships

June 11-15
USA Surfing is the IOC-recognized National Governing Body for the sport of surfing in the USA. Surfing America is responsible for holding the USA Championships each year and for selecting the official USA Surf Team to compete internationally. Competition includes Adaptive, Longboard, SUP and Junior Teams.
