Día de los Muertos

Come and celebrate el Día de los Muertos with art, ballet folklórico and more! This year we celebrate our 21st annual Festival, and it is going to be better than ever. As always, attendees will be able to create altars to remember lost loved ones in a special area created by artist Eloy Tarcisio. We will also have live music by Cumbia Machin, Mariachi Divinas, and Ritmos del Tiempo. For the children, we will have face painting, arts & crafts, and more. Food and handmade goods will be available for purchase.
The festival begins at 6:00 pm and is free and open to the public. Altar space will not be available until 6:00 pm, but early arrival is strongly recommended. Guests will not need a ticket to enjoy the festival.
North Coast Rep Laughter on the 23rd Floor

San Diego Asian Film Festival

The San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) is San Diego’s premier film showcase of Asian American and international cinema. Founded in 2000, the festival has grown to become the largest exhibition of Asian cinema in the western United States, and has showcased everything from future classics like Bong Joon-ho’s Memories of Murder (US Premiere) to luminary independent work like Patrick Wang’s award-winning In the Family (North American Premiere). Each year, the festival brings West Coast, North American, and World premieres of films from around the world to San Diego and gives audiences unique opportunities to discover international cinema.
This year, the 17th edition of SDAFF will showcase over 140 films from 15 countries at 6 different venues in San Diego from November 3-12, 2016.
San Diego Beer Week

San Diego Beer Week brings together more than 100 San Diego County breweries for a 10-day celebration with more than 500 events. Enjoy brewery tours, rare beer tastings, Meet the Brewer events and beer education. The week kicks off with the 14th Annual San Diego Brewers Guild Festival.

EXPOSURE

EXPOSURE is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through skateboarding. We create opportunities for women by organizing events that provide all-female professional and amateur skateboarding competitions, learn-to-skate clinics and wellness education. Proceeds from our events support survivors of domestic violence.

Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast

Join us for the 7th Annual Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast on November 5, 2016! Pick one of 5 awesome courses of 7, 15, 25, 50 and 100 miles, or grab a jersey combo and join 2,400 cyclists for a fantastic experience on the beautiful California coast and the amazing venue of the Oceanside Pier.
The Beer Garden and Expo are open to the public. We will also have giveaways for registered riders, and will be raffling jerseys, clothing, bikes, sponsor gear, prizes and more.
Movie in the Park

Epic Teen Nights
Join us at Pine Avenue Park with a low-backed chair or blanket for an outdoor movie presentation of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Food and beverages are available for sale at the event. The movie will start at dark.

Escondido Tamale Festival

Carlsbad Village Faire

Location: Carlsbad Village
More than 100,000 people will take in the beauty of our seaside city while browsing through unique booths, indulging in delectable eats and enjoying family entertainment when the largest one-day street faire in the nation returns next month.
The Carlsbad Village Faire will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. November 6, 2016. Now in its 42nd year, the free event has grown to be so popular that it not only continually attracts people from all over Southern California, but also from other states. Some visitors even plan their vacations around the bi-annual event.
Just like at past faires, over 900 vendors will sell everything fathomable, including clothes, accessories, plants, household products, art, antiques and home decor. The international food court will once again feature more than 50 booths serving everything from Thai to Hawaiian cuisine. The children’s area will entertain youngsters with games, a super slide, a bounce house, a rock climbing wall, face painting and arts and crafts.
The Rotary Club of Carlsbad’s beer and wine garden will entertain fairgoers with a large screen TV and live bands. The Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad will continue its more than 25-year tradition of hosting a pancake breakfast at the Carlsbad railroad depot. The meal, which includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice, will be served between 7 a.m. and noon.
Grand Avenue from Carlsbad Boulevard to Jefferson Street, and all of the cross streets in between, will be closed for the event. To make parking more convenient, complimentary shuttles will run to and from the faire. Shuttles will pick up and drop off passengers at the Poinsettia Coaster Station and the northwest corner of Sears at Westfield Carlsbad.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®

5K and One Mile Walk/Run
Today, there are more races than you can count. But none have the same impact on breast cancer as the Komen San Diego Race for the Cure®. With $1 million invested here this year alone, Komen San Diego continues to be the County’s largest provider of free breast cancer treatments, services and support. The event raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
Seventy-five percent of the net income stays in our community to help fund local programs offering breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment. The remaining 25 percent of the net income supports the Susan G. Komen® Grants Program.
Del Mar Bing Crosby Season

O’side Turkey Trot

Recognized as one of the Top Trots in the country by Runner’s World Magazine, the trot attracts visitors from 46 States and 460 cities.
We invite you to come “move your feet before you eat” this Thanksgiving at Oceanside’s 11th Annual PMCU Turkey Trot 10k or 5K run/walk. Join one of the fastest growing holiday traditions. Be sure to bring the whole family, as there will be races for everyone. Event offers a costume contest, largest teams competition, fabulous live entertainment on the course and finisher medals for all participants. Free digital photos, medals, shirts, and timing to all registered participants. The event has raised over $240,000 for non-profits that serve O’side residents.
The Pacific Marine Credit Union O’side Turkey Trot offers a variety of running options including a new 10K built on a fast course used for the 5 mile in previous years, a 5K run/walk, a combo run with both the 10K and 5K and five separate kids’ runs.
Del Mar Thanksgiving Family Mile Fun Run

While waiting for the turkey to cook, come out to Del Mar with the entire family to do a one-mile lap around the racetrack itself! Expected to participate are many of your favorite jockeys running right with you.
Participants receive racetrack admission and parking, a fun run t-shirt and a portion of the proceeds benefit Helen Woodward Animal Center and their equestrian therapy program for children and adults with special needs. Kids’ prizes will also be available. After the run, Helen Woodward will be hosting one of their beloved adoption events at the track.
Encinitas Turkey Trot & Food Drive

If you have never walked or run along the Pacific Coast in Encinitas in late November, you are in for the surprise of your life. Start your Thanksgiving holiday with friends, family and thousands of costumed participants at the 2016 Encinitas Turkey Trot 5K and 10K. The fun starts and finishes under the world famous “ENCINITAS” sign on Coast Highway.
